Yen Thanh forest fire fighting drill

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 21, Yen Thanh district organized a fire prevention and control drill, conducted by the Forest Protection Department in coordination with the District Military Command.

Situation, at 9:35 a.m., a forest fire broke out in the Hon Giang hill regeneration forest area, covering an area of ​​over 1,000 square meters, in plot 3, sub-area 883 of Phuc Giang hamlet, Phuc Thanh commune. This is a forest area near a residential area, but the hilly terrain is steep, making it difficult to maneuver, transport and practice fire fighting.

Fire broke out in the forest, forces joined in extinguishing the fire

The fire was safely extinguished by on-site forces.

When smoke was detected in the forest, the people called the forest owner and nearby foresters to put out the fire. After only 15 minutes, the Commune and District Fire Prevention and Control Command arrived at the scene, directing nearly 300 soldiers with the motto "4 on-site" to put out the fire, using rudimentary tools: firebreak generators, machetes, tree branches... By 10:20, with the efforts of the participating forces, the fire was controlled and safely extinguished.

At the end of the drill, the Steering Committee for Fire Prevention and Control of Yen Thanh district, together with members of the steering committee, drew lessons and highly appreciated the coordination between local authorities and people in fire prevention and control work.
