(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 19th, under the chairmanship of Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for New Rural Development, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to hear and give opinions on the report on the results of 3 years of implementing Resolution No. 03 NQ/TU dated June 6, 2011 of the Provincial Party Committee on new rural development.

By December 2013, the province had 9 districts that had established New Rural Development Offices; 9 districts that had established specialized task forces; and 431 out of 431 communes that had established Steering Committees. Regarding infrastructure development, to date, the people in the province have donated more than 4,582,000 m² of land.2Land was contributed, along with nearly 3,600 man-days of labor and over 4,024 billion VND. 3,365 km of rural roads were built and upgraded, and over 1,800 km of irrigation canals were improved. 187 out of 431 communes completed land consolidation and exchange, 75 new cooperatives were established, bringing the total number of cooperatives in the province to 555 of all types, and 375 effective production models were developed… Thanks to investment in production development and crop restructuring, the income of rural people has increased, and the poverty rate is estimated to decrease to 12.5% ​​by the end of 2014 (from 18.79% in 2011).

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong stated that: After three years of implementing the Resolution, the material and spiritual lives of rural people have been significantly improved, and the face of rural areas is increasingly flourishing. Regarding the goals, tasks, and solutions for the future, Vice Chairman Dinh Viet Hong emphasized: Building new rural areas is a major, correct, and people-friendly policy; it is a huge, complex, and long-term task. By the end of 2015, the entire province aims to have 90 communes meeting the new rural area standards; by 2020, 50% of the communes in the province will meet the new rural area standards; and one district will meet the new rural district standards according to the national criteria stipulated in Decision 491/QD-TTg. To achieve these targets, a number of tasks and seven solutions must be implemented simultaneously, focusing on directing and prioritizing resources for the 90 communes to achieve the goals by 2015.
