Manchester City are just one point away from the Premier League title after thrashing Aston Villa 4-0 in their rescheduled match early this morning. Edin Dzeko's brace, along with late goals from Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure, helped Manuel Pellegrini's side reach 100 goals in 37 league games.

This victory also officially eliminated Chelsea from the race and brought Manchester City closer to their second championship in three years.

A draw against West Ham this weekend would be enough for them to clinch the title, as the goal difference between Man City and Liverpool is virtually insurmountable in the final round of matches.

Meanwhile in Spain, Real Madrid's title hopes were dashed when Valladolid equalized 1-1 with only five minutes left in their rescheduled match.

This was Real's second consecutive draw, and it's even more painful for them as Cristiano Ronaldo is injured and could be out for the rest of the season.

This result leaves Real Madrid 4 points behind Atletico and 1 point behind Barcelona with two rounds remaining.

If Atletico beat Malaga in the next round, Real will be officially eliminated from the title race. Atletico could even be crowned champions without waiting for their final match against Barca if Barca don't win against Elche this weekend.

In France, Paris Saint-Germain also officially clinched the title despite losing 1-2 to Rennes at Parc des Princes.

PSG's Ligue 1 title was secured before they even played, as Monaco had drawn 1-1 with Guingamp, leaving them seven points behind the capital club with two rounds remaining.
