Vinh University summarizes student scientific research work

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, May 30, Vinh University held a conference "Summary of student scientific research activities in the 2013-2014 school year" to evaluate scientific research activities among students, and on that basis propose solutions to improve the quality of these activities, contributing to fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.

In the 2013-2014 school year, scientific research (NCKH) in general and scientific research students in particular of Vinh University have always been focused on promoting. All faculties organized "Good Study Conferences" and "Conferences on exchanging learning methods - Scientific Research" to equip students with a general view of scientific research work at the university level, thereby orienting and selecting student groups to participate in research topics with lecturers. In addition, faculties in the school organized specialized olympics attracting more than 500 students to participate. Some faculties still maintain editing and publishing specialized journals; many students have proactively written articles for seminars, scientific research conferences... Clubs, study groups, scientific research are increasingly expanded in training faculties, contributing significantly to improving the effectiveness of student scientific research work in credit-based training of the school.

Last school year, under the guidance of teachers, many students carried out many scientific research topics, theses, and graduation projects with good quality. At the conference, 18 most typical scientific research topics of the majors were selected for presentation; 17 groups and 25 individuals with high achievements in the student scientific research movement were commended and awarded. Notably, in 2013, 5 students and student groups of Vinh University won the award "Young Vietnamese Scientific Talent" and were also awarded on this occasion.

In addition to the achieved results, the conference also pointed out the shortcomings of scientific research activities among students such as: many good and excellent students have not really proactively approached scientific research activities right from the first years; some young lecturers have not paid due attention to scientific research activities of students; the practicality and application of scientific research topics of students are not high... On that basis, the conference proposed solutions to improve the quality of scientific research activities of students in the coming time: focusing on increasing the forms of scientific research among students in both breadth and depth. Improving the quality and organizing well the scientific research activities of students. At the same time, building specific content and plans and assigning tasks to staff and lecturers in discovering, nurturing, and organizing students to register to participate in scientific research topics.
