The phenomenon of "Blood Moon" appeared today
Astronomy enthusiasts in Australia are looking forward to a fascinating event on April 15: the appearance of a "Blood Moon." All eyes will be on the eastern horizon to observe this total lunar eclipse as the sun sets.

The Melbourne Planetarium said the eclipse will reach totality at 5:49 p.m. and remain so until just before 6:25 p.m., when it will end at 7:03 p.m.
With the Bureau of Meteorology predicting scattered showers and cloud cover in Brisbane and Sydney, Melbourne is one of the best places to observe the phenomenon.
The Moon will be covered by the Earth's shadow, preventing direct sunlight from hitting it, said Perry Vlahos, spokesman for the Astronomical Society of Victoria.
This phenomenon is called a lunar eclipse, and it sometimes causes the Moon to appear strange colors ranging from dull yellow to smoky, orange, and red. These colors are caused by volcanic ash in the atmosphere. The more ash from recent eruptions, the darker the Moon's color.
"The color of the Moon depends on how much dust is in the atmosphere. I can't say for sure, but the darker the better. The best place to see it is on an east-facing beach, or anywhere with a clear view of the horizon."
Mr Vlahos added that although total lunar eclipses are common, the one that will occur tomorrow is rare because the Moon will be completely obscured by the Earth's shadow as it rises at sunset.
This amazing astronomical phenomenon has also led many religious groups to believe that it is a sign of the end of the world. But for scientists, scholars, atheists and many others, this is just a phenomenon to be expected, and life will continue unaffected.
Just like the Mayan prophecy of the end of the world on December 22, nearly 2 years have passed since then and the Earth has not been destroyed by any disaster./.
