Quynh Luu: Organizing a book reading festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 27, the Quynh Luu District Cultural and Information Center coordinated with Quynh Tan Commune to organize a reading festival for all primary and secondary school students in the area.

Attending the festival were comrade Duong Duy Tien - Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Library; excellent teacher Ho Ngoc Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, along with a number of district departments and more than 300 students.

Book Festival is an opportunity for students to deeply understand the value of books and newspapers to apply in daily life.

With the theme "Books - the key to success" is a spiritual and material product created by human labor, an important factor to promote social development. Therefore, every year, the district's Cultural and Information Center organizes a reading festival for students in the area, especially students in mountainous and disadvantaged areas of Quynh Luu district. Access to books and newspapers is an opportunity to help students improve their intelligence and understanding of their homeland and country. Through that, they will acquire knowledge, experience, and values ​​of life that our ancestors and previous generations have summarized and passed on to the next generation. At the same time, it promotes and encourages the habit of reading not only among cadres, teachers, staff and students in the school but also among all parents.

The 2014 Book Festival is a playground to honor and promote reading culture and protect the rights of genuine bookmakers and implement cultural development in the library sector with the goal of "Building a reading movement in society to effectively contribute to building the future reading generation".

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial Library and Quynh Luu District Library transferred 450 copies of books to Quynh Tan Commune. Of which, the Provincial Library received 150 copies and Quynh Luu District received 300 copies.
