Gold prices rose sharply.
Domestic gold prices surpassed the 37 million VND/ounce mark on the morning of May 20th.
Early this morning, upon opening for trading, businesses unexpectedly pushed the selling price of gold up to 37.5-37.7 million VND/ounce, an increase of 700,000-900,000 VND compared to yesterday (May 19).
At 9:00 AM, the SJC gold price listed by DOJI Group was 36.85-37.25 million VND/ounce, an increase of 150,000 VND for buying and 400,000 VND for selling compared to the end of yesterday.
Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) traded gold bars at 36.9-37.25 million VND/ounce, an increase of 250,000 VND for buying and 400,000 VND for selling.
The prices above 37 million VND set this morning are the highest since the beginning of November last year.
On the world market, gold prices remained stable yesterday and this morning (May 20), currently fluctuating around $1,294 per ounce, equivalent to 33 million VND per tael. The difference between domestic and world gold prices is currently over 4.2 million VND per tael.
