Khe Kèm Waterfall (Con Cuông) is an interesting tourist destination in Pù Mát National Park - Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve.
From a height of 500m, with a slope of approximately 80°, water cascades down forcefully over three tiers, creating a white foam. Seen from afar, Kèm Waterfall resembles a white silk ribbon against the lush green backdrop of Pù Mát National Park. The road to the waterfall is winding, curving, and rugged. This might discourage some visitors, but those who overcome the considerable distance to witness this natural wonder of Pù Mát will surely not regret it. From the foot of the waterfall, you'll feel the endless flow of the stream amidst the white foam, like a long, flowing white silk ribbon. Blending with this magical white color is a crystal-clear, cool stream, accompanied by the songs of countless birds. Above and on either side of the waterfall is a carpet of vegetation with hundreds of species of flowers blooming year-round. Each season brings a different flower, giving visitors the feeling of being lost in a vast flower garden. At the foot of the waterfall is a long stream with smooth, flat rocks like large tables, providing resting places for visitors. Also at the foot of the waterfall are small pools of varying depths, creating a stunning natural landscape. In summer, the temperature at the waterfall area is a pleasant 20°C. In the morning, visitors can immerse themselves in the cool, refreshing nature of Khe Kèm waterfall amidst the typical hot and humid sunshine of Central Vietnam.
Visitors can enjoy themselves by the waterfall, breathing in the cool air and fresh air of nature, then drinking rice wine, eating sticky rice cooked in bamboo tubes, or watching the traditional dances of the Thai ethnic people. Visitors can follow the trail to the top of the waterfall, enjoying the breathtaking mountain scenery. On the way to Kèm Waterfall, the lasting impression of Pù Mát's beauty is the sound of flowing water at the Phà Lài dam, and the vibrant red color of the trees along the banks of the Giăng River, reminiscent of phoenix flowers. The banks are covered in lush vegetation, exuding a wild, unspoiled beauty, highlighted by majestic limestone mountains, dotted with the colorful blossoms of orchids and the clear, cool water. From the Khe Diêm bridge intersection on National Highway 7, traveling along the road towards Môn Sơn and Lục Dạ in Con Cuông district for about 3 km, visitors will encounter Mọc Stream. Unlike other streams, the water here seems to spring up from the earth, crystal clear and rushing, dispelling the scorching heat of summer.
