President Truong Tan Sang requested a review of the Huyen Nhu case.

After the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court concluded the first instance trial of the case of Huynh Thi Huyen Nhu and her accomplices on charges of "fraudulent appropriation of property", "forgery of seals and documents of agencies and organizations" and "loan sharking", there were many different opinions about the verdict that the first instance trial panel had announced.

Besides the opinions in favor, there are also many opinions that disagree with the results of the first instance trial, requesting to review Huynh Thi Huyen Nhu's crime, review Vietinbank's participation in the proceedings, saying that the verdict shows signs of letting criminals escape, is not fair, strict and not strong enough to prevent and deter crimes in the economic field.

Many defendants, victims, civil plaintiffs, and people with rights and obligations related to this case have filed appeals. The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Procuracy has also filed appeals. Currently, the Supreme People’s Court is reviewing and resolving the case according to the appeal procedure.

Faced with the above situation, President Truong Tan Sang requested law enforcement agencies to urgently review the case, clarify the criminal acts of the defendants, on that basis determine the crimes and decide on the level of punishment in accordance with the law, try fairly, strictly, the right person, the right crime, the law, not to miss anyone, not to let the crime go unpunished, but also not to wrongfully accuse the innocent. At the same time, it is necessary to clarify and fully clarify the violations of related organizations and individuals, not to exclude any organization or individual, have appropriate forms of handling, meet the expectations of all classes of people, have a good effect in deterring, preventing and repelling all types of crimes, including crimes in the economic field, contributing to strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of State management and making the socio-economic development more healthy.
