Juventus win Serie A, Real miss a golden opportunity.

Juventus had already officially won the Serie A title for the 2013-2014 season even before playing their 36th match, after AS Roma essentially gave up with a 1-4 defeat against Catania.

This is Juventus' third consecutive league title (they are 8 points ahead of Roma, with only two rounds remaining in the season), and also their 30th Scudetto in the club's history.

Real Madrid missed a golden opportunity to determine their own fate this season after a disappointing 2-2 draw against Valencia in the late match of La Liga's 36th round.

Even in the match that took place early this morning, it was only thanks to a late injury-time goal from Cristiano Ronaldo that the Royal team could secure a point at home.

Earlier, Barcelona drew 2-2 with Getafe at Nou Camp, while Atletico Madrid lost 2-0 to Levante.

Thus, after round 36, Atletico still holds the top spot with 88 points, Barcelona is second with 85 points, and Real is third with 83 points. The Bernabeu team has played one less game.

* In last night's Serie A matches, the Milan derby ended with a 1-0 victory for AC Milan. Nigel de Jong was the only player to score against their rivals Inter.

With this victory, Milan temporarily climbed to 8th place with 54 points, while Inter remained in the same position with 57 points.

* In the Premier League, Chelsea essentially shot themselves in the foot in the title race after only managing a 0-0 draw against relegation-threatened Norwich.

After 37 rounds, Chelsea are in third place with 79 points, one point behind Man City and Liverpool, but have played one more game. This means that if either of those two teams wins, The Blues will officially be out of hope.
