(Baonghean.vn) - On April 21, the Nghe An Provincial People's Court held a first-instance criminal trial to hear the case of "Illegal trafficking of narcotics" against Vi Thi Nga (born in 1986, residing in Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district) and Luong Xuan Hung (born in 1981, residing in Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district).

The indictment states that on one occasion, a woman named Hong from Lang Son province came to Quy Chau district (Nghe An province) to mine ore, and Nga met her. The woman invited Nga to traffic "white goods" (drugs) for profit, but Nga refused.

On December 3, 2013, Hong again approached Nga's kiosk to invite her to join the smuggling operation, not forgetting to subtly hint that each successful shipment from Que Phong district, Hanoi, would earn her 40 million VND. Thinking it was a lucrative deal, Nga agreed and Hong gave her a bundle of money and instructed her to go to Huoi Xai village (Tri Le commune, Que Phong district) to pick up the goods.

On the afternoon of December 6, 2013, Nga called Luong Xuan Hung to invite him to Que Phong to buy heroin. There, they met a Hmong man who gave them two blocks of heroin along with 40 million dong as payment. After receiving the "goods" and the money, Nga and Hung set off on their way back that same night.

At approximately 5:00 AM on December 7, 2013, upon arriving in the Pà Lài area, Châu Tiến commune (Quỳ Châu district), they were apprehended by law enforcement. During the search, authorities seized two blocks of heroin weighing 628.10 grams.

At the trial, the panel of judges sentenced defendant Vi Thi Nga to 20 years in prison and defendant Luong Xuan Hung to 18 years in prison.
