Nghe An University of Economics: Launching a campaign to support the Fatherland's sea and islands
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to orient students in expressing patriotism and looking towards the sea and islands of the Fatherland, on the evening of May 19, 2014, in Vinh city, Nghe An University of Economics organized an exchange session and launched a movement to join hands to support the "Fund for the sea and islands of the Fatherland".

At the ceremony, right after the opening speech stating the purpose and meaning of the exchange, the Organizing Committee launched a call for joint support for the sea and islands of the Fatherland. More than 200 union members and students representing the Youth Union branches of Nghe An University of Economics participated in donating and supporting. Next, the students listened to lecturers from the Provincial Military School inform about the strategy to protect the sea and islands of the Fatherland according to the Resolution of the 8th Central Conference (11th term); the viewpoints and orientations of the Party and State in handling the case of China illegally placing an oil rig in the exclusive economic zone and continental shelf of Vietnam.
Showing patriotism, members and students of Nghe An University of Economics protested against China's wrongful actions, affirming that "Hoang Sa and Truong Sa belong to Vietnam"; the school's youth pledged to join hands with the Party and State to be ready to contribute to protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

According to the Organizing Committee, at the launching ceremony, the school raised 15 million VND and will continue to call for support. The fund after being donated will be transferred by the school to the Central provinces to support fishermen who suffered fishing accidents in the Hoang Sa fishing grounds, and to encourage and visit officers and soldiers who are day and night protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland./.
