Traditional Chinese medicine treatment for mouth ulcers.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, oral ulcers are a type of mouth ulcer that includes canker sores on the mouth and tongue, appearing as red, swollen, and painful sores on the mucous membrane; in severe cases, they may contain pus. Those suffering from this condition often experience burning pain, especially when consuming salty, sour, or spicy foods; bad breath; a feeling of heat or a slight fever; yellow urine; constipation; and a red tongue.
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that mouth ulcers are caused by excessive heat or toxins in the spleen and stomach (spleen and stomach being overheated), or by yin deficiency leading to internal heat, causing the excess fire to rise and create ulcers in the mouth and tongue.
