Oriental medicine believes that teeth are the excess part of bone and belong to the kidney organ.

- Grind 3 parts of roasted Cyperus rotundus, half part of Asarum sieboldii, half part of fresh ginger and rub on teeth 2-3 times a day.

- Roast burdock seeds, take the juice and gargle, then swallow.

- Cut a large Atractylodes rhizome into two halves, make a hole in the middle and fill it with salt. Roast it until it has a mineral content, take it out and crush it. Prescription: 8g of Cimicifuga, 8g of Platycodon grandiflorum, 8g of Red Peony, 4g of Licorice, 12g of Scutellaria baicalensis, 8g of Forsythia, 8g of Peony bark, 16g of Rehmannia glutinosa. Boil and drink. If the pain persists, add 6g of Bupleurum and 10g of Anemarrhena.

- If more severe, use 18g of raw rehmannia root, 15g of raw gypsum, 9g of saposhnikovia root, 3g of asarum root, 9g of peony bark, 9g of tangerine peel, 9g of perilla, 3g of raw grass to clear heat, cool blood, calm the liver, and dispel wind.

- In case of toothache or recurrence, swelling due to heat and toxins: Treatment: clear heat, detoxify, reduce swelling.

Prescription: use 18g gypsum, 6g coptis, 12g burdock seed, 10g angelica, 10g mint, 12g millet needle, 10g bamboo leaf, 12g gypsum, 12g raw rehmannia, 10g saposhnikovia, 10g rehmannia root, 10g rehmannia root bark, 12g magnolia bark. Boil and drink.

If toothache is caused by blood heat stagnation, it is necessary to clear heat, activate the joints, reduce swelling, and relieve pain. Use 30g of gypsum, 10g of hawthorn, 12g of uy linh tien, 12g of dried summer grass, 12g of betel nut, 15g of red sage, 10g of licorice, and 10g of Chinese plum.

In case of people who are no longer young and have unbearable toothache, loose teeth, like coolness, fear of heat, dry throat, red cheekbones, weak thighs, the cause is kidney deficiency and excess fire, the treatment method is to nourish yin and reduce fire.

Prescription: 10g of rehmannia glutinosa, 10g of Chinese yam, 10g of cornus officinalis, 10g of poria, 8g of alisma, 8g of peony bark, 10g of phellodendron bark, 10g of tortoise shell, 10g of anemarrhena.

If toothache lasts for a long time, tooth root is loose, disease recurs many times, tooth root is swollen and painful, back and thighs are weak and tired, mind is upset, insomnia is due to kidney deficiency below, heat stagnation above, must nourish kidney, clear heat, nourish yin, strengthen teeth, cool blood, and disperse stagnation.

Prescription: 15g Chinese yam, 6g Cornus officinalis, 10g Alisma, 30g Salvia miltiorrhiza, 12g Honeysuckle, 20g Rehmannia glutinosa, 10g Poria, 12g Moutan bark, 15g Euryale ferox. Decoction to drink.
