Lukaku scores hat-trick for Belgium, Januzaj debuts

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku scored a hat-trick in Belgium's 5-1 win over Luxembourg in Genk in a warm-up friendly for the 2014 World Cup.

Lukaku opened the scoring for Belgium in the 3rd minute after a pass from Marrouane Fellani. But just a few minutes later, Luxembourg surprisingly equalized when Aurelier Joachim scored a beautiful long-range shot from 25 meters. However, the match then belonged to the home team completely when Lukaku scored two more goals in the 23rd and 54th minutes to complete his hat-trick.

In the remaining time of the match, Nacer Chadli and Kevin De Bruyne scored 2 more goals to seal a 5-1 victory for Belgium. The victory against Luxembourg was also the debut match of young talent playing for Man United, Adnan Januzaj, after he was brought on to replace Chadli.

Zarate joins West Ham

Former Lazio and Inter striker Mauro Zarate has agreed a three-year contract with West Ham.

Zarate spent four years playing in Italy for Lazio and Inter between 2008 and 2012. Last season, the Argentine striker returned home to play for Velez Sarsfield, where Zarate scored 19 goals in 29 appearances.

Scolari: I picked Diego Costa for the World Cup

Brazil coach Felipe Scolari has revealed that he had planned to select striker Diego Costa for the 2014 World Cup before the striker decided to join Spain.

Costa played two friendly matches for Brazil before deciding to switch to represent Spain. The Atletico striker made his debut for “La Roja” in a friendly against Italy, the same opponent he also made his debut for Brazil.

“I plan to take him to the World Cup. I have spoken to Costa twice about this. He can play as a number 7, number 9, or even number 11. Costa is as strong as a bull,” Scolari revealed.

However, Costa's ability to participate in the World Cup is being questioned after the Atletico striker repeatedly suffered hamstring injuries.

Luis Suarez re-commits to Liverpool

According to the Daily Mail, striker Luis Suarez has once again confirmed to his Liverpool teammates that he wants to continue fighting with the team in the Premier League next season.

This is the second good news in a row for Liverpool in just one day because before that, coach Brendan Rodgers also signed a new contract with Liverpool until 2018.

Real Madrid are said to be willing to spend 100 million pounds for Suarez, who only renewed his contract with Liverpool last December. However, with Suarez's recent moves, the possibility of the Uruguayan striker leaving Anfield is very low.

AC Milan are about to replace Seedorf with Inzaghi

According to Goal, AC Milan are about to replace Clarence Seedorf with Filippo Inzaghi, a former teammate of the Dutch coach.

Seedorf only took charge of Milan in January after the sacking of Max Allegri and guided the team to an eighth-place finish in Serie A. However, that was not enough for the Milan board. The red-and-black striped team searched for a new coach and targeted Sevilla's Unai Emery. However, the high cost of the deal made Milan give up, even though Emery had just led Sevilla to the Europa League title.

Therefore, Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani have decided that Inzaghi is the most viable choice for the team's head coach position from next season.

Inzaghi spent 11 years with Milan, winning 1 Scudetto and 2 Champions Leagues with the team. Inzaghi retired in 2012 and later coached Milan's youth team.

Coach Cesare Prandelli has just brought good news to Italian football fans when he agreed to extend his contract for another 2 years to continue leading the Azzurri. That means the former Fiorentina coach will continue to lead Italy at least until the end of EURO 2016.

Prandelli's current contract with the Italian Football Federation will expire after the 2014 World Cup and there have been rumors that he will move to manage a club.

Prandelli has been in charge of Italy since 2010 and led the Azzurri to the EURO 2012 final two years ago.

“At this moment I feel very satisfied. I am proud that the Italian Football Federation proposed a new contract to me, regardless of the result of the World Cup. So I am ready to continue working,” Prandelli told ANSA.
