Quynh Van-Quynh Luu Farmers' Association: Giving tamarinds to poor members
(Baonghean.vn) - SOn the morning of June 12, at the commune's cultural house, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Van commune, Quynh Luu district held a ceremony to give away tamarinds of love to 4 poor farmer families with especially difficult circumstances in the area.
Responding to the movement "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", and the movement of practicing thrift to build a "cow bank" launched by the Farmers' Association of Quynh Luu district to help poor members have breeding animals to develop livestock farming. After the launching period from March 1 to 20, 2014, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Van commune called on members, individuals and organizations to donate and support poor farmers. As a result, the fund collected over 41 million VND. From this amount, the Association bought 4 tamarinds (each worth 10 million VND) to give to 4 poor member families with especially difficult circumstances in the area, including the family of Mr. Le Van Long in branch 1, Le Van Quang in branch 4, who is disabled and affected by Agent Orange and is unable to work; The families of Mr. Ho Minh Tue, branch 8, and Le Van Kien, branch 17, are both extremely poor households in the commune.

Representatives of 4 poor farmer families expressed their emotion at the sympathy and support of local departments and organizations, and promised to take care of the tamarinds so that they are healthy and reproduce well to have capital to develop the economy and escape poverty. After handing over the tamarinds to the members, in the coming time, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Van commune will coordinate with veterinary staff to support technical care and disease prevention so that the tamarinds can grow well and reproduce quickly, helping families have more income.
From January 2013 to June 2014, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Van commune launched a program and presented 6 tamarinds to poor members with a value of over 65 million VND./.
