According to the Inspectorate of Nghe An Department of Transport, since the mobile vehicle weight inspection station was deployed (starting on April 1), the inter-sectoral functional forces have inspected 1,218 vehicles, detected and handled 653 cases of overloaded vehicles, revoked driving licenses of 645 cases, and forced the unloading of more than 5,700 tons of goods of all kinds, with a total fine of more than 3.7 billion VND.

In addition, the Mobile Inspection Team inspected and handled over 120 cases of vehicles taking detours to avoid or avoid stations, including 82 cases of overloading by over 50%, revoking 120 driver's licenses and imposing fines of 615 million VND.

With the drastic intervention of the authorities, the rate of vehicles violating the law of overloading has decreased significantly. Some businesses and vehicle owners, after being disciplined for their violations, have become aware of their violations, voluntarily reduced their load, removed the extended cargo bed, and stopped carrying oversized or overloaded cargo.

However, the situation of heavy-duty vehicles operating on the province's roads is still complicated, especially on provincial roads, construction material loading and unloading areas; overloaded vehicles avoid inspection stations, run into branch roads and roundabouts, damaging bridge and road structures, seriously affecting traffic safety and order.

In the face of the above situation, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 13/CD-UBND dated June 19, 2014 on strengthening inspection and handling of overloaded trucks participating in traffic on roads in the province and operating at mobile truck load inspection stations. It is strictly forbidden for civil servants, public employees, soldiers, and people performing official duties in the whole province to intervene, cover up, or assist organizations and individuals who violate regulations on vehicle load; Nghe An Automobile Transport Association and press agencies continue to promote propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations on vehicle load and loading of goods onto cars, and at the same time require transportation businesses and drivers to commit to complying with regulations and not transporting oversized or overloaded goods.

For vehicles that intentionally do not comply with the order to stop, the license plate number will be clearly recorded, the driver and vehicle owner will be identified for strict handling according to the law.

On the other hand, the province tightens the inspection of road motor vehicles, strictly handles cases of arbitrary changes in the structure, shape and size of vehicles, in order to gradually reduce and eventually end the situation of oversized and overloaded cargo vehicles, protect traffic infrastructure and traffic safety./.
