Bat Cave - a forgotten beauty?

(Baonghean) - Bat Cave is located in Can village, Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district, where huge bat colonies take refuge. Mrs. Lo Thi Xien (84 years old) recounts: “In the past, bats flew in in swarms from who knows where, filling the sky with their blackness. Bat Cave got its name from that.”

Bat Cave is surrounded by lush green forests, its entrance a moss-covered rock formation resembling a fish's jaws ready to devour its prey. Inside, there are smaller, deeper cave entrances spaced 5 to 7 meters apart. The cave is enchanting and magical in the light, with its undulating folds and sparkling stalactites. In the afternoon, as the sun sets, its rays illuminate the cave, making the stalactites shimmer in a unique and magical way.

Tourists visiting Bat Cave

The Bat Cave is spacious, with two levels, each featuring a different arrangement of stalactites and stalagmites, varying in color and shape. From the second level, the first level can be seen through an opening about one meter wide. Right below the cave are vast sugarcane fields belonging to the local people.

Today, Bat Cave no longer retains its original beauty. People enter the cave to break and pry away slabs of rock and stalactites, and the bats in the cave have gradually disappeared. Now, Bat Cave is almost forgotten, only occasionally visited by curious children from the village or students out of curiosity...
