(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 20, the People's Committee of Nam Dan district solemnly held a ceremony to commend and reward the district's Children's Football Team for their achievement of winning the 18th Nghe An Newspaper Cup.

As a traditional locality, it has participated in all 18 Youth Football Tournaments organized by Nghe An Newspaper Cup, winning many achievements: 5 style prizes, 8 third prizes and most recently the championship. In this year's group stage, Nam Dan Children's School defeated Hung Nguyen Children's School 5-2, and Con Cuong Children's School 7-3; thereby winning the first place in the group.

Entering the quarter-finals, Nhi Dong Nam Dan faced a huge challenge when they had to meet the championship candidate, the Vinh City Children's Team. However, the solidarity and unanimity of an excellent team helped Nhi Dong Nam Dan win and then advance to the final match with Nhi Dong Do Luong after overcoming Nhi Dong Yen Thanh Team in the semi-finals. In the final match of the tournament, Nhi Dong Nam Dan continued to play impressively and stepped up to the championship title amid the overwhelming joy of the large audience in Uncle Ho's hometown.

It is worth mentioning that this is the team's first championship cup after 18 times participating. It is the result of the timely attention and encouragement of local leaders, the efforts of the coaching staff; especially the great efforts and determination of the young players of Nam Dan.
