Provincial Border Guard mobilizes ethnic people to prevent drugs

(Baonghean.vn) -From June 17 to 20, in Tri Le commune (Que Phong), the provincial Border Guard coordinated with local authorities to organize mobile propaganda and mobilize villagers to prevent drugs.

Implementing the coordination plan No. 678 between the Provincial Border Guard and Que Phong district on resolving the complicated situation of drugs on the border, the Political Department - Provincial Border Guard, with the core being the Cultural and Artistic Propaganda Team, directly went to the villages of Na Lit, Muong Long, Huoi Xai 1, Huoi Xai 2 of Tri Le commune to perform art performances, encouraging the villagers to actively prevent crimes and drug abuse.

For decades, the people of Muong Long and Huoi Xai 1, 2 villages have been able to watch an exciting performance.

In recent years, Tri Le commune has been a key area for drug trafficking, storage and use in the province. To prevent the “white death”, the provincial Border Guard has increased its staff and soldiers, coordinated with the police force, militia and people from all walks of life to crack down on drug crimes. Since the beginning of the year, the Drug Crime Prevention Department of the provincial Border Guard and Tri Le Border Guard Station have discovered 13 drug trafficking cases, arrested 15 subjects and handed them over to the authorities for handling according to the law.

This time, along with the fight against drug crimes, Tri Le Border Guard Station and the Provincial Political Department - Border Guard organized a peak period of propaganda and mobilization of ethnic minorities to prevent and combat drugs; together with the government and people, organized drug rehabilitation (centralized and at home) for 62 drug addicts; together with the Village Management Board, organized a commitment signing with all households not to store or use drugs, not to assist or cover up drug trafficking crimes.
