When forced to eat, tourists are kicked out of the hotel.
Having failed to force tourists to use their food and beverage services, some hotels and guesthouses on Sam Son beach (Thanh Hoa) have resorted to threatening and expelling tourists from their establishments.
On July 21st, the Market Management Team No. 2 of the Thanh Hoa Market Management Department (located in Sam Son town, Thanh Hoa province) reported that they had advised the Chairman of the Sam Son Town People's Committee to issue a decision to fine two accommodation and food service businesses 30 million VND for forcing tourists to use their food services and then expelling them from their accommodations.

Through the hotline, on June 18th, Market Management Team No. 2 issued a fine of 20 million VND to Thanh Dat Hotel, belonging to Vietnam Training and Tourism Joint Stock Company (located at 108 Le Hoan Street, Truong Son Ward, Sam Son Town), which specializes in accommodation and food services.
Subsequently, on July 4th, Market Management Team No. 2 also issued a report and fined 10 million VND to the Nam Hoi guesthouse, owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi (located at 20 Tong Duy Tan Street, Bac Son Ward, Sam Son Town).
These are two guesthouses that "forced" tourists to eat and drink at their establishments. When the tourists refused, the guesthouses resorted to threats, insults, and attempts to evict them, causing damage to property and harming the tourists' reputation and honor.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Binh, Team Leader of Market Management Team No. 2, said that upon receiving complaints from tourists, the team sent officers to record violations and take strict action. “Since the beginning of the tourist season, the team has handled dozens of violations and advised the Sam Son town leadership to impose fines totaling over 217 million VND. The main violations include soliciting customers, street vending, charging higher prices than listed, and driving away tourists…” Mr. Binh said.
It is known that in recent years, Sam Son town has been very strict in penalizing cases of street vendors, touting, coercion, and price gouging in tourist areas.
According to what I read in the newspaper.
