Coach Mai Duc Chung unexpectedly leaves Thanh Hoa!
Coach Mai Duc Chung officially said goodbye to his players at Thanh Hoa FC during lunch today (July 21st), much to the surprise of the Thanh Hoa team's players.
Following the 0-2 defeat against Dong Tam Long An in Round 21 of the 2014 V-League, head coach Mai Duc Chung decided to resign from his position as head coach of Thanh Hoa FC.

Speaking with us, coach Mai Duc Chung said: “I have tried my best to bring Thanh Hoa team to its current position in the standings, so I feel very relieved to say goodbye. During this afternoon's meeting, the Thanh Hoa club leadership still wanted me to continue in charge for the last three rounds, but I think I should stop, because who knows, someone else might take over and do a better job.”
After a meeting with the club's leadership, coach Mai Duc Chung said goodbye to his players during lunch today, and everyone was surprised by this rather sudden decision.
Currently, the Thanh Hoa club leadership has not yet decided who will be the team's head coach in the near future, but according to some people familiar with the inner workings of the Thanh Hoa team, it could be a foreign player currently playing for the club.
Meanwhile, coach Mai Duc Chung said that he will take a break for a while before thinking about finding a new job.
