The Provincial People's Committee directed to resolve a number of urgent and outstanding issues.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee in Official Dispatch No. 3281 - CV/TU dated July 24, 2014 on resolving a number of pressing and outstanding issues, on August 14, 2014, the Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 5830/UBND-NC on directing the resolution of a number of pressing and outstanding issues, assigning tasks to departments, branches, sectors and localities:

1. The provincial police direct professional departments and local police to:

- Continue to inspect, monitor and handle illegal mineral activities, especially on Lam River, Hieu River and mineral activities in Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen areas...

- Focus on combating the tax-evading transportation of minerals abroad for consumption; actively advise localities to do a good job of State management of minerals.

2. The Department of Industry and Trade shall preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Police, the Provincial Customs Department, and the Provincial Border Guard Command to advise the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee on the Directive on combating smuggling of gasoline, oil, and minerals causing loss of State budget revenue (Draft document submitted to the Provincial People's Committee before August 30, April 20 for approval and submission to the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee).

3. The Department of Construction, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns, according to their functions and tasks, shall strengthen State management measures on minerals and labor safety in mineral exploitation, and take measures to prevent re-offending.

4. Department of Transport presides over:

Coordinate with the provincial police and localities to strictly handle oversized and overloaded vehicles; detect negative factors and responsibilities of sectors and localities that cause oversized and overloaded vehicles.

- Direct the Traffic Inspectorate to coordinate with the Provincial Police and localities to regularly inspect and handle illegal mineral exploitation activities on rivers, causing landslides and flow deviations that affect production and people's lives, especially on Lam and Hieu rivers.

5. Radio and Television Station and Nghe An Newspaper regularly report and produce reports reflecting on the activities of oversized and overloaded vehicles, violations in mineral exploitation and the responsibility of State management of organizations and individuals so that Party committees and authorities at all levels can direct timely corrective and handling measures.

6. People's Committees of districts, cities and towns shall strengthen State management measures on minerals and traffic safety and order; coordinate with departments, branches and functional forces to take measures to prevent re-offending.

Request relevant Departments, branches, Nghe An Newspaper, Radio and Television Station and People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to seriously implement.

If there are any difficulties or problems during the implementation process, promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee for further direction./.
