Vietnamese fans threaten to "drown" Ho Ngoc Ha at EMA
After the “controversy” about arranging the results, MTV Vietnam announced that singer Ho Ngoc Ha is still the representative face of EMA 2014. This has caused public opinion to continue to react and debate whether to vote for this singer or not at EMA?

Will Ho Ngoc Ha continue to participate in EMA 2014? |
1. Was MTV Vietnam not transparent or not smart in its handling of this nomination? Fans suspect both. With the privilege of sending an official representative, MTV Vietnam could have immediately put an artist of their choice on the regional nomination list. But they chose to vote online.
However, it seems that the voting was only for the organizers to see if the face they chose would receive the support of the fans or not? As reported by The Thao & Van Hoa, Ho Ngoc Ha took the lead at the last minute with 246,289 votes, Son Tung got 243,948 votes, and Dong Nhi came in 3rd with 236,804 votes. But suspicions about the unusual number of votes at the last minutes were raised. That is the reason why some fans expressed "anger" because they felt disrespected in the voting, which they thought the results had been pre-arranged by the organizers.
On September 16, a new social network was created called “Boycott MTV Vietnam” to express their attitude towards the voting results. In addition, many fans openly “drowned” the representative of Vietnam by “voting” for other competitors such as the Philippines and Indonesia, regardless of who the international artist they chose was. Fans believe that what they need is fairness and they are acting for that. However, with this reaction, the EMA results, for now in the Southeast Asia region, can hardly be called fair.
2. The Best Worldwide Act category in the past 3 years has been considered the playground of Asian artists when the awards went to Korea and China respectively. Their victory certainly came from their solidarity to support their country's representative.
As for Vietnam, from the past to the present, it has never been inferior to any other place in terms of national spirit. Looking at history, that spirit has created many things that the world admires. So the question now is whether to vote for Ho Ngoc Ha because of national spirit or to vote for the "opponent" to protest the way the Organizing Committee works? That depends entirely on the fans. Now, they are the ones with the most power to create opportunities to promote Vietnamese music to the world. Hopefully, they will choose to respond positively.
In fact, from the beginning of the voting, there were 6 nominees but the game seemed to be only for Son Tung M-TP, Ho Ngoc Ha, Dong Nhi, Noo Phuoc Thinh because the number of votes of these four singers compared to the two remaining nominees, Trung Quan Idol or Bich Phuong, had quite a distance. And looking at the bright faces for the representative position, it cannot be denied that Ho Ngoc Ha had the "chance" to be the best. It's just that the recent scandals related to the way the organizers did things have made some fans unhappy, and that has invisibly affected Ho Ngoc Ha.
On social networks, many opinions say that if she is a real artist, Ho Ngoc Ha should withdraw from this year's program. Currently, Ho Ngoc Ha's representative informed the media that they are still hesitant about participating in this game and will not make any move before meeting with MTV Vietnam in the soonest time.
Currently, on the personal pages of the 6 representatives of the Southeast Asian region, there are calls for support for the artists. Voting for Noah (Indonesia), Yuna (Malaysia), Sarah Geronimo (Philippines), Stefanie Sun (Singapore), Slot Machine (Thailand) and Ho Ngoc Ha (Vietnam) will end on October 22.
