Crane cable breaks, crushes pedestrian to death in Hoang Mai town

(Baonghean.vn) - While constructing Hoang Mai bridge on National Highway 1A, the crane of unit 412 - Cienco 4, Traffic Construction Corporation 4 suddenly broke its cable, causing the crane, which was more than 40 meters long, to fall onto the road, crushing a motorbike and its driver.

The above serious accident occurred on Hoang Mai bridge in Mai Hung ward, Hoang Mai town (Nghe An) at 9:00 a.m. on September 27.

According to people who witnessed the accident, at the time, Mr. Ho Phi Hung (born in 1971, residing in Yen Trung hamlet, Quynh Di commune, Hoang Mai town) was driving a motorbike with license plate 37P1 8384 on the road when suddenly the crane of the above unit broke its cable and collapsed onto the road, crushing both him and his motorbike, Mr. Hung died on the spot.

Upon receiving the information, Hoang Mai town police were present at the scene to cordon off the accident area, regulate traffic, and investigate the cause of the accident.
