Asiad 17: Vu Thi Huong enters the final, Sepak Takraw wins bronze medal

Vietnam's "Queen of Athletics" has officially won the right to enter the final round of the women's 100m race with a time of 11 seconds 69.

Vu Thi Huong started on lane 6, the third leg. Along with her were many championship candidates such as Viktoriya (Kazakhstan), Tassaporn (Thailand)... After 100m, Vu Thi Huong achieved a time of 11 seconds 69, ranking second in the third leg. She officially won the right to compete in the final round taking place on the afternoon of September 28.

Speaking after completing the qualifying round, Vu Thi Huong said: “This year’s Asian Games has many strong opponents, I just did my best but the results are very difficult to predict. The results in the qualifying round are not my best and do not really satisfy me. In the final round taking place tomorrow, I hope the results will bring medals to the Vietnamese sports delegation.”

Also on the afternoon of September 27, the Vietnamese women's team lost 0-2 to Thailand in the semi-final match of the regular sepak takraw event, accepting the bronze medal. This is the 27th medal of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 17th ASIAD. Up to now, the team has 1 gold medal, 6 silver medals and 20 bronze medals.

In wrestling, Ly Thi Hien defeated Uzbek wrestler Sultamuratova Aziza 5-0 in the 63 kg freestyle wrestling event. Ly Thi Hien will compete for the bronze medal with Jakhar Geetika (India) on the evening of September 27./.
