In Group A, U19 Thailand is the weakest team in the race for a ticket to the quarterfinals before the final round of matches. Their two competitors, host U19 Myanmar and U19 Yemen, only need a draw to advance.

However, U19 Thailand continued to make a surprise in this year's tournament when they came from behind and won 3-2 against U19 Yemen. U19 Thailand was behind 1-0 then 2-1 but still overcame to win the final match.

The hero of the Thai team was reserve player Patipan Pinsermsootsri. Entering the field in the 37th minute, Pinsermsootsri took only three minutes to equalize 1-1 for Thailand U19. By the end of the match, Pinsermsootsri completed his hat-trick by scoring two more goals in the 85th and 88th minutes.

This is the second victory of Thailand U19 in the group stage after they defeated Iran U19 in the first round with a score of 2-1.

In the remaining match, host U19 Myanmar lost 0-2 to U19 Iran. This was quite a surprising result because U19 Iran was eliminated early after two losses. However, U19 Myanmar, thanks to a better goal difference (+1 to -1), overcame U19 Yemen to win the right to continue.
