Roger Federer has been crowned Basel Open champion after defeating David Goffin 2-0 in the final.

After overcoming relatively difficult challenges in the previous rounds, Federer only needs to defeat young tennis player David Goffin to be crowned champion of the Basel tournament.

Despite his impressive wins in the previous rounds, Goffin still proved to be too weak and inferior in class against Federer. The Belgian quickly lost the break and easily lost 2-6 in the first set.

The scenario in set 2 was not much different. Although Federer did not play at his best, he still comfortably deployed his game and got two more breaks to end the match with a 6-2 6-2 victory after just over 50 minutes of competition.

Thus, Federer has won the Basel Open for the 6th time. This is the best preparation for FedEx before the last two important tournaments of the year, the Paris Masters and the ATP World Tour Finals.

At the Valencia Open taking place at the same time, Andy Murray continued to show his good form to win the championship with a 3-6, 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (10-8) victory over Tommy Robredo, thereby moving closer to a ticket to the ATP World Tour Finals./.
