Recently, in Dong Nai, the groundbreaking ceremony of the social housing development project - Detaco apartment complex for staff of Nhon Trach Industrial Park (IP), Dong Nai province, sponsored by the Mekong Delta Housing Development Bank (MHB) took place.

The Detaco apartment project funded by MHB has a scale of 16 blocks, each block is 5 floors high with 2,192 apartments; full of necessary amenities to ensure good service for life and activities such as kindergarten, park, school, shopping center, parking lot... planned on a land area of 50,143 m2.

The project is located at the center of the key industrial parks of Nhon Trach district, especially this is the only urban project in the entire area with the largest international hospital planned in Nhon Trach city. On the other hand, the apartment complex is separated from Nhon Trach industrial park by a large green area, the 150-hectare World of Childhood Park and other projects, creating fresh air.

Implementing the Resolution of the Politburo, on September 18, 1997, Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet signed Decision No. 769/QD-TTg on the establishment of MHB to contribute to caring for people's lives, better exploiting the potential of this region and ensuring food security for the whole country, building the Mekong Delta (MD) into a region with developed industry, agriculture and services.

During more than 17 years of operation, MHB has continuously developed, strengthened and expanded its business activities. Up to now, MHB's total assets have increased more than 110 times compared to the first day of establishment; asset quality is guaranteed; MHB network is in the top 10 banks with the largest network in Vietnam with nearly 240 transaction points in most key provinces and cities across the country.

With the condition of being established later, financial resources still have certain difficulties, having to both form and compete fiercely in the market, the achievements that MHB has achieved are not small, especially in developing the apparatus, maintaining the value of the State capital, always operating transparently, especially in the issue of accounting, classification, and assessment of asset quality.

Up to now, although being a commercial bank, MHB still focuses on its original mission in the housing sector. MHB's outstanding housing loans currently reach over VND 4,000 billion with over 18,000 loans. In the Mekong Delta region alone, MHB is also the only unit assigned to implement the "Housing Development Support Program for Flood-affected Residential Clusters in the Mekong Delta" funded by the French Development Agency and is also the only unit selected by the World Bank to disburse loans under the Urban Upgrading Project in Can Tho City.

In 2015, MHB continued to implement the restructuring project under the direction of the Prime Minister and the State Bank to become a modern bank, diversified in the field of banking and finance, operating according to international practices, safely and effectively. In addition, it continued to promote housing support, infrastructure construction and care for the lives of people in the Mekong Delta.
