The Origin of Kindness

(Baonghean) - An American came to Vietnam for the first time. For her, this small country was completely foreign. Like other tourists, before coming here, she carefully read the guidebooks for tourists. Of course, in this pocket book, there are always mentions and lists of problems and "tricks" that exist in Vietnam for tourists.

Vinh city on a chilly evening, the American tourist left the hotel. She got into a Van Xuan taxi and did not forget to pay attention to the meter before the car started moving. That was one of the instructions in the "Vietnam Travel Guide". Perhaps up to that point, she had been cautious and vigilant about everything in this country. After returning to the hotel for quite a while, she suddenly received a notice: "Someone is looking for you to return your change". Surprised and touched by the taxi driver's gesture, the tourist exclaimed: "Oh, I am so ashamed because I thought wrongly about you". Since then, the American tourist has viewed the country and people of Vietnam in a positive light. The change originated from the taxi driver's kind act.

When economic development has reached its peak, culture and people are what every country wants to aim for in building its image. Thailand is known for its friendly smile, Japan is characterized by its citizens' discipline. As for us, when the image of our country is not yet clearly defined. There are still stories about unethical behavior or uncivilized behavior towards foreign tourists that have damaged the image of the country. Many researchers have to exclaim: "Are we Vietnamese people completely ugly, or is there some reason that exists, causing the "kindness" in each individual to not be revealed?".

Through the taxi driver’s behavior towards the American customer, it is clear that building the country’s image does not lie far away, but through the kindness of the most ordinary people. What could be more beautiful and attractive than if Vietnam became “The Country of Kindness”. Believe that we Vietnamese always have “kindness and kindness” hidden within us. And the responsibility for building the country’s image belongs to all social classes. Therefore, let’s make the “kindness” in each person, each individual, be revealed at all times. Let’s start with kind behavior, in every smallest action of me and you!
