The city's emergency center said the injured were rushed to five hospitals. Five people are still in critical condition, one is seriously injured.

The driver, a 24-year-old woman, lost control of the car after being honked at by a car, causing her to become agitated. Police are currently questioning the woman.

Initial investigations revealed that 30 people were standing in the lobby outside the terminal, watching and taking pictures of planes taking off and landing, when the car crashed into them. The lobby is designed for vehicles and not for pedestrians.

Huang Jiangtao, a witness who was nearly stabbed, told Xinhua that he did not realize there was a pedestrian ban in the area because there were no signs or airport staff warning him.

However, an airport spokesperson said their security team patrolled the area and dispersed pedestrians there every day. The airport will add signage and increase patrols in the future./.
