Over two-thirds of the more than 500 questions submitted to the "Safe Weight Loss Advice" program in the first two days concerned belly fat. Many people are distressed by having an "oversized waistline" due to work pressure and living environment.

“Doctor, I’m 28 years old and an office worker. Maybe because I sit a lot, my waist circumference is increasing day by day. Before, it was only 65 cm, but now it’s 88 cm,” shared Hai Anh from Thai Binh, who sent her question to the program. Similarly, Phuong Thuy from Da Nang expressed her concern: “I’m 160 cm tall and weigh 66 kg. I gave birth two years ago. In recent months, my work has been stressful and demanding. I’ve been eating a lot, so I’m gaining weight, especially in my stomach and buttocks, which makes me feel constantly bloated and heavy. Sometimes I even feel short of breath and breathless. I’m very upset.” These are just two of hundreds of questions from female readers seeking advice from experts.

According to MSc. Dr. Dao Thi Yen Phi, the body is divided into four different components: fat, lean muscle, bone, and water. When white fat increases excessively, it is called overweight or obesity. Increased white fat often accumulates in areas with loose, easily elastic structures such as the waist, abdomen, hips, and thighs, leading to aesthetic problems and numerous health consequences.

Regarding abdominal obesity, Associate Professor Dr. Le Bach Mai, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Nutrition, stated that many studies show that the type of obesity prevalent among Vietnamese people is abdominal obesity and a high percentage of body fat, especially in women. Particularly today, with increasing life pressures, women are more prone to abdominal obesity. Statistics show that office workers, female civil servants, and postpartum women are among those most susceptible to abdominal obesity.

Scientists have discovered that women working in office jobs or as civil servants often experience work pressure or uncomfortable work environments, which can easily lead to stress. Prolonged stress causes the body to produce cortisol – a hormone that encourages the body to store fat around the abdomen, causing the belly to suddenly increase in size. Stress also leads to insomnia, disrupting the production of leptin, a hormone that regulates appetite and metabolism. Therefore, increased appetite when tired leads to cravings for and consumption of sugary and fatty foods. Thus, the more stress and pressure there is, the greater the chance for the waistline to expand.

Furthermore, workaholic women often eat irregularly or skip meals, easily leading to digestive disorders. Not chewing food thoroughly and drinking enough water can easily lead to intestinal problems and indigestion, causing bloating and eventually abdominal distension. Busy women are also prone to consuming fast food and processed foods like cakes, milk, ice cream, and fried chicken, which are high in calories. These foods, if consumed late at night while working to finish a backlog, further exacerbate the problem for their waistline.

In addition, abdominal fat in women is due to special physiological stages such as pregnancy and breastfeeding. Excessive nutrition, limited exercise, and the fact that many women do not breastfeed further contribute to abdominal fat accumulation. Therefore, postpartum obesity and postpartum weight loss become a persistent and challenging problem.

Regarding the health risks of abdominal obesity, Professor Dang Van Phuoc emphasized that abdominal obesity includes both subcutaneous and visceral fat accumulation. Visceral fat is particularly dangerous as it can lead to various health complications such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, bone and joint problems, and cancer.

Losing belly fat requires persistence and the right approach.

Speaking about the dangers of belly fat, singer Ho Ngoc Ha, a guest on the live stream program "Safe Weight Loss Advice," was also surprised: "Before, 'maintaining my figure' was mainly for singing and performing, and I didn't know it had so many health benefits."

Ho Ngoc Ha also revealed that she doesn't eat at night after performances because if she ate like that continuously for a week, no matter how much she trained, her stomach would still be big. She also emphasized the need for consistent exercise and maintaining a healthy diet, as that was the battle she had to overcome to achieve a beautiful figure and good health.

To improve abdominal fat, Associate Professor Le Bach Mai recommends a suitable diet, reducing animal fats, sweets, fast food, soft drinks, beer, and alcohol. Increase consumption of green vegetables and low-sugar fruits. Simultaneously, exercise 5-6 days a week for at least 30 minutes each time. Focus on exercises targeting the waist, abdomen, and thighs – areas where white fat accumulates most. In addition, consider using products that address the underlying cause of the condition, containing natural bioactive compounds from Belaunja and Mangastin, which help reduce accumulation and increase breakdown of white fat in the waist, abdomen, and thighs.

Các hoạt chất sinh học quý từ Belaunja và Mangastin có trong LIC giúp giảm tích tụ và tăng ly giải mỡ trắng an toàn, hiệu quả
The valuable bioactive compounds from Belaunja and Mangastin in LIC help reduce the accumulation and increase the breakdown of white fat safely and effectively.

Clinical studies on natural bioactive compounds from Belaunja and Mangastin, published by the University of California Davis (USA), show significant effectiveness in weight loss and reduction of BMI, waist circumference, and hip circumference after 2-8 weeks of use, and are safe for users.

Adhering to the three golden principles of nutrition, exercise, and the use of natural bioactive substances is considered a safe and effective method for sustainably addressing the worrying problem of abdominal fat that many people face today.
