Many traditional Japanese New Year decorations will be sold directly here: Kadomatsu (decorative products made from pine branches and bamboo, representing health and longevity), Koinobori (carp-shaped lanterns, symbolizing ambition, courage and perseverance in life), Hamaya (lucky bow and arrow, meaning to ward off evil spirits according to Japanese beliefs)...

In addition, at the festival, visitors can participate in many activities to celebrate the Japanese New Year such as: drawing fortunes at the beginning of the year, trying on traditional Yukata costumes, drawing eyes on traditional Daruma dolls to pray for luck...

Not only that, when coming to the festival, the public will have the opportunity to join in the traditional Yosakoi dance or participate in shows dressed as Japanese comic and cartoon characters.

“Ake Ome! 2015” is inspired by the phrase “Akemashite omedetou” (which means happy new year in Japanese).

The organizers said that this program aims to create a healthy playground for the public (especially the youth) during the 2015 New Year. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to strengthen the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Japan.
