The book "National High School Exam Review Guide" does not meet the exam requirements.

The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent an official dispatch to the Departments of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Publishing House (NXBGD) regarding the publication and distribution of the book series "Guidelines for reviewing the national high school exam for the 2014-2015 school year".

The document confirms that currently, in the reference book market, there is a set of books "Guidelines for reviewing the national high school exam for the 2014-2015 school year" consisting of 8 books: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Literature, History and Geography published by Vietnam Education Publishing House in February 2015. This is a set of books directly drafted and published by Vietnam Education Publishing House, not compiled by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry does not intend to publish review guides for the exams.

Among the authors of the book series are some officials working in departments and bureaus under the Ministry of Education and Training. However, the officials only participate in their personal capacity like other authors, and are not related to the professional guidance of functional units under the Ministry of Education and Training. Therefore, this book series is just like other reference books on the market. The content of the above book series does not meet the requirements of the national high school exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The Ministry of Education and Training said it would review and request individuals who are officials of the Ministry involved in publishing and distributing the above documents to learn from their experiences and handle any violations. At the same time, it requested the Vietnam Education Publishing House to learn from their experiences and be more cautious in publishing and distributing documents with the participation of officials working at the Ministry of Education and Training, because they could be mistaken for guidance documents of the Ministry.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Vinh Hien said that in the coming time, the Ministry will announce sample test questions for each subject, the 2015 national high school exam for teachers and students to refer to. And requires educational institutions not to organize the issuance of reference materials in general, and review guide books in particular. The purchase of reference materials during the learning and review process is completely voluntary, educational institutions are not required to force learners in any form.
