According to traditional medicine, the flowers of the wild jasmine plant have a sweet, mild taste and a cooling nature. They are used to clear heat, fight inflammation, stop bleeding, moisten the lungs, relieve coughs, and detoxify the body.

The plant known as *Centella asiatica*, also called *Centella asiatica*, belongs to the Commelinaceae family. It is a perennial herbaceous plant, 30-40 cm tall, covered by leaf sheaths, and unbranched. The leaves are 18-28 cm long and 3-5 cm wide, sessile, with sheaths; the upper surface of the leaf is green, the lower surface is purplish. The inflorescence is an erect umbel within two overlapping bracts, resembling a shell. The flower has sepals, three yellowish-white petals, and a capsule fruit 3-4 mm long, with three compartments that open into three segments, containing a single angular, hard seed. The plant flowers in summer. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant in many places, especially in cities, parks, and home gardens. The part used for medicinal purposes is the flower, used fresh or dried.
