Ban Gioc is known as the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia and the fourth largest natural waterfall in the world among waterfalls located on a national border. This waterfall is located in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, nearly 90 km from Cao Bang city. The waterfall consists of two parts: the main waterfall (also known as the low waterfall) and the secondary waterfall (high waterfall).

The main waterfall looks from afar like a soft white silk strip across the hillside, about 100 m wide, 70 m high and 60 m deep. The secondary waterfall is higher than the main waterfall, but has less water and is often dry in the dry season. The waterfall is most beautiful from June to October. At this time, the scenery here is as beautiful as a painting with golden ripe rice fields.
