The body of a man found on top of Pico de Orizaba, Mexico, on June 6th is believed to be that of a passenger on a plane that crashed into the mountain in the 1990s.

According to the BBC, mountaineers have found the man's body. Local officials said he was about 25 years old and had been dead for about 15 years. It is highly likely that he was a passenger on the plane that crashed into the mountain in the 1990s.

The victim was wearing a white shirt, trousers, and a gray sweater, but no shoes were visible. His attire suggested he was not a mountain climber.

This is the third mummified remains found on a glacier in recent months at Mexico's highest peak. In March, mountaineers also discovered the bodies of two men believed to have gone missing more than 50 years ago in an avalanche.

Glaciers can preserve bodies for years, sometimes thousands of years, as was the case with the Tyrolean Iceman, found in 1991 on the border of Austria and Italy, 5,000 years after he was killed by an arrow.
