Provincial People's Council representatives meet with voters in Thanh Chuong and Quy Hop districts.

(Baonghean.vn) -On June 22nd, provincial People's Council delegates held meetings with voters in various localities prior to the 14th session of the 16th Provincial People's Council.

* Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Internal Affairs Department, met with voters in Chau Thanh commune, Quy Hop district.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong explained some issues within his authority.

At the meeting, voters heard Comrade Nguyen Van Thong announce the program and content that will be discussed and decided at the 14th session of the 16th Provincial People's Council; and report on the implementation of socio-economic development targets in the first six months of the year and the tasks for the last six months of the year by the Provincial People's Committee.

Voters raised several suggestions and proposals: They requested that the province provide price and seed support policies for farmers; promptly supply cement for rural road construction; address the issue of water for daily life and production; tackle environmental pollution caused by mineral exploitation; support the replacement of electricity lines for the people, as some hamlets still use overhead wires and wooden poles, posing a threat to people's lives; develop a plan to utilize the regional clinic that has been out of operation since the end of 2014, causing losses and waste of state assets; implement preferential recruitment policies for local people after graduating from university and college; increase the loan amount for poor households to enable people to invest in economic development; and strengthen efforts to ensure political security and social order, especially regarding drug-related issues.

On behalf of the provincial People's Council delegates, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong explained some issues within his authority, and also received the remaining opinions and proposals to be presented at the upcoming session of the provincial People's Council.

* Comrade Tran Cong Duong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, delegate of the Provincial People's Council, held a meeting with voters in Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council representatives announced the planned agenda for the 14th session of the 16th Provincial People's Council and presented a summary report on the economic, social, security, and defense situation in the first six months of 2015, as well as key tasks for the last six months of 2015.

Voters in Nghia Xuan commune raised the following concerns and suggestions: There is a need for policies and mechanisms to support economic models and the transformation of the economic structure. Attention should be paid to the maintenance and repair of irrigation works, as administrative procedures are still cumbersome; funding for national defense and security activities and the remuneration for part-time commune-level officials are needed. The supply of cement for rural development construction needs to be timely and avoid peak seasons. Licenses for sand and gravel mining are needed to facilitate road construction and housing development. Household electricity is weak and unusable...

Regarding the issues raised at the meeting, the provincial and district People's Council delegates provided explanations within their authority and compiled the feedback to be submitted to future sessions.

* On June 21st, Comrade Tran Van Mao - Standing Member of the Provincial People's Council - held a meeting with voters in Xuan Tuong and Thanh Luong communes, Thanh Chuong district.

During the meeting, representatives of the Provincial and District People's Councils informed voters about the expected content, program, and timing of the 14th session of the 16th Provincial People's Council; the 13th session of the 18th District People's Council; and the report on the results of implementing socio-economic, security, and defense tasks in the first six months of 2015 and the goals and tasks for the last six months of 2015 of the Provincial People's Committee.

Comrade Tran Van Mao clarified some questions of concern to voters.

During the meeting, voters from the two communes raised several issues, including: inadequacies in the provision of benefits for war veterans; unemployment among their children after graduating from colleges and universities; whether the current road toll collection for motorcycles in the localities should continue; environmental pollution and damage to rural roads caused by trucks transporting sand from sand mining sites in Xuan Tuong commune; inconsistencies in land management causing public dissatisfaction; cumbersome procedures in issuing and renewing land use right certificates; inability to watch local television channels; and weak electricity supply failing to meet people's needs.

After listening to the opinions, suggestions, and aspirations of the voters, the provincial, district, and commune People's Council representatives and local authorities directly explained the issues within their jurisdiction, and promised to take note of the remaining opinions and submit them to the competent authorities for resolution.
