Pale complexion, low blood pressure, and dizziness upon standing up or sitting down may indicate a deficiency in vital energy (qi and blood). According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, a decoction of Angelica sinensis and Cyperus rotundus can be used as a remedy.

According to herbalist Nguyen Duc Nghia of the Ho Chi Minh City Herbal Medicine Association, some of the following traditional Chinese medicine remedies can reduce dizziness when standing up or sitting down.

Lesson 1:

Angelica root: 30g, Cyperus rhizome: 20g, decoct with one liter of water. When the water has reduced to 300ml, divide into two portions and drink throughout the day. The dizziness symptoms should subside after about 3-5 days. For best results, continue drinking for 7-15 days.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, qi and blood deficiency manifests as dizziness and low blood pressure, often occurring during or after menstruation. It is best to take this medicine before menstruation. Cyperus rotundus promotes qi circulation, while Angelica sinensis nourishes the blood.

Lesson 2:

The Four-Ingredient Decoction (Tứ vật thang) has a blood-tonifying effect with four ingredients: Ligusticum chuanxiong, Angelica sinensis, Paeonia lactiflora, and Rehmannia glutinosa. Additionally, the Eight-Ingredient Blood-Tonifying Decoction (Bát trân thang) contains eight ingredients, including four from the Four-Ingredient Decoction and the Four-Ingredient Soup (Tứ quân thang): various types of ginseng, Poria cocos, Atractylodes macrocephala, and Glycyrrhiza glabra.

These herbs are used in doses of 6-20g each, decocted with one liter of water and reduced to 300ml, to be drunk 2-3 times a day. Depending on the symptoms and physical condition of each person, the dosage of the herbs may be adjusted accordingly.
