Exchange of working experiences between Hanoi and Nghe An Provincial People's Committees

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 12 in Vinh City, the Standing Committee of the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Nghe An Province held a meeting to exchange work experiences with the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Hanoi City.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Van Nga, Deputy Head of the Ethnic and Religious Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City; Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, Provincial Party Committee Member, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An Province; Priest Duong Phu Oanh, Standing Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Committee of Hanoi City; Priest Nguyen Dang Dien, Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Committee of Nghe An Province, along with delegates of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Committees of the two units and representatives of departments and branches of the province.

Mr. Phan Hai Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Catholic Emulation Committee reported on the evaluation of the patriotic emulation movement of Nghe An Catholics.

The Catholic community of Nghe An has 50,840 households, nearly 270,000 people, including 11 deaneries, 92 parishes and 360 parishes, accounting for over 8% of the province's population. With a spirit of diligence and creativity, the parishioners have applied scientific and technological advances to production; many economic development models in the direction of industrialization, diversification of occupations have achieved high economic efficiency, creating jobs for thousands of workers with stable income. The movement of joining hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas has been actively responded to by priests, parish pastoral councils, parishes, and the Catholic community; population and family planning work has had positive changes, many parishes and parishes have had no third or more children for many consecutive years. In Hanoi, the Committee for the Promotion of Religious Affairs has the participation of many intellectuals, so it has the strength to organize many seminars, scientific discussions, and specialized training courses on religion, religious work, and religious laws. Hanoi City also pays great attention to this organization, such as supporting the annual budget, equipping facilities, providing allowances for key positions, and signing long-term contracts with office staff. 100% of districts have a Committee for the Promotion of Religious Affairs and have a decision to recognize it. During the meeting, the two sides presented and exchanged work experiences such as: guiding the city's Catholics to participate in patriotic emulation movements, coordination work; valuable experiences and practices to jointly bring the movement "Good Catholics are also good citizens" into the lives of parishioners and all members of God's people. The delegates also discussed the difficulties that need to be resolved in developing the organization and patriotic emulation movements of Catholics in the coming time.
