Vietnam attends "ASEAN Food Festival 2015" in Cambodia

On the morning of August 29, at the Diamond Island Exhibition Center in the capital Phnom Penh of Cambodia, the host country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Corps of ASEAN countries in Cambodia organized the "ASEAN Food Festival 2015" to introduce the unique cultural features in ASEAN cuisine to friends in the region and the world..

In his opening speech, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Nam Hong emphasized that this event symbolizes the goal of moving towards a unified ASEAN from the diversity of identities, partly reflected through the differences in unique culinary cultures of member countries.

The festival also helps to enhance understanding of the cuisine, culture, country and people of ASEAN member countries, thereby promoting friendship among ASEAN countries.

At this "ASEAN Food Festival 2015", Vietnam's booth prepared by the staff of our Embassy in Cambodia received attention and high appreciation from international friends and the host country.

Vietnam booth with typical images of Vietnam such as red flag, yellow star, ao dai, conical hat with typical dishes of Vietnamese culinary culture such as beef noodle soup, banh xeo, fried spring rolls...

Documents and leaflets providing information about food, scenic spots, the country and its people are also introduced to friends and visitors to the booth.

Along with introducing traditional dishes of ASEAN countries, the festival also features cultural performances of ASEAN countries./.
