Gmail has a feature that helps users categorize their emails by using color-coded stars to mark emails according to their purpose. This way, you can save time in knowing which emails are important and which are less important.

To enable these multicolored stars/icons, first you need to log in to your Gmail account.

Next, in the inbox interface, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select Settings in the drop-down menu.

At this point, the General tab will be displayed by default, look for the Stars area on the far left.

Here, if you want to quickly select according to Google's settings, you just need to click 4 stars or all start to add pre-set colors.

Additionally, you can also drag-drop each star/icon contained in the Not in use section to the In use section. With this method, you can drag and drop as many as you want.

Once you're done, go to the bottom of the Settings interface and click the Save Changes button. Gmail will now switch back to the original Inbox interface.

You have to remember which color star represents which type of email. So it's all based on your memory, Gmail doesn't categorize it.

How to use colored stars

From now on, when you want to mark an email, click once on the star icon corresponding to that email, by default the first color will be yellow.

To change the color, click again, the star icon will change color according to the order arranged when setting up. Now, keep clicking until you choose the color you want.
