China discovered another hundred-ton gold mine under the seabed
China has discovered a 328-ton gold mine, near where a 470-ton gold mine was discovered two weeks ago off the coast of Shandong province.
According to People, the new gold mine is located in Sa Linh, an area off the coast of Lai Chau town, in Yantai city, Shandong province, northeastern China. This year, Yantai discovered 31 new gold mines, bringing the total newly discovered gold reserves to 979 tons.

"The 470-ton gold mine discovered in the north of Sanshan Island is the largest gold mine ever discovered in China. Now there is another 328-ton gold mine in Shaling," said the person in charge of the Yantai City Department of Natural Resources.
According to the Yantai City Department of Natural Resources, a mine with a reserve of 50 tons or more is considered a super-large mine. The discovery of a new mine with a reserve of more than 300 tons is of great significance. Gold mining has long provided jobs for hundreds of workers, raised the average income of local residents, and increased government tax revenue. Currently, one ton of gold in China is worth about 280 quadrillion yuan (more than 40 billion USD).
Yantai is known as the "golden city" in China, with the largest gold reserves in the country, and has also had the highest gold mining output in the country for 39 consecutive years. Of which, the total untapped gold reserves are about 3,000 tons.
However, the newly discovered giant gold mines are all located 2,000 meters deep under the seabed, so they cannot be exploited due to limited technology.
Mr. Lo Tri Giang, representative of Tam Vien Geological Exploration and Exploitation Company, said that in South Africa, gold mining has reached a depth of 3-4 km, while in China, the technology only stops at 1.5 km.
