The above announcement was made by Mayor of Saint Petersburg, Mr. Georgy Poltavchenko, to reporters on December 9 when announcing the preliminary results of the city delegation's official visit to Vietnam.

“We are currently working on the construction of Vietnam’s first nuclear power plant, which will be built entirely by Russian specialists. Our developers and designers will be in charge of this project. The supply of electrical equipment will come from Russia, which means from Saint Petersburg,” Mr. Poltavchenko said.

Currently, experts from the Silovye Mashiny company in Saint Petersburg have also started building the Long Phu 1 thermal power plant in Vietnam with the project completion deadline being 2019./.
