Successfully manufactured specialized equipment for mixing cancer treatment drugs

The project "Research, design and successful manufacture of specialized equipment (Isolator) to prepare cancer treatment drugs" won second prize in the field of Mechanics, Automation, Energy, Construction and Transportation at the 9th Binh Dinh Province Science and Technology Innovation Contest (2014-2015).

The characteristic of cancer drugs is the ability to destroy living cells, so the issue of protecting people researching and preparing cancer drugs needs to be carefully considered.

Isolation equipment for cancer drug researchers and manufacturers is a topic that author Nguyen Van Qua and his colleagues are passionate about researching to replace expensive imported equipment used to produce cancer drugs at their facility.

Isolation production technology separates the production area from humans and uses isolation technology to minimize human intervention in the preparation area, which can significantly reduce the risk of microbial contamination from the environment for sterile products, or the impact of toxic chemicals on humans and the production environment.

The novelty of the solution is that up to now in Vietnam there is no unit that produces isolation equipment (Isolator). Meanwhile, for imported equipment, not only is the price high, but each time the filter is changed, there must be specialized equipment and technical staff of the company to be able to change the filter safely.

On that basis, with Bidiphar's equipment, the Hepa filter used in the Isolator is a cylindrical filter, easy to use and can be replaced by yourself while still ensuring safety for the person changing the filter.

All materials for manufacturing equipment, from mechanical supplies to electronic components, are mostly purchased from the domestic market and only some components such as Hepa filters and operating gloves are imported.

The remaining processing equipment is undertaken by the company during the production process and the equipment is being manufactured according to the order of Can Tho General Hospital.

Technical efficiency, the successful manufacture of the Isolator is the premise for the research of cancer treatment drugs, meeting the demand for cancer treatment drugs for people, replacing cancer treatment with high-priced imported drugs and creating an abundant source of drugs for hospitals; ensuring GMP requirements for drug products and safety for pharmacists and doctors performing the preparation and extraction of cancer drugs.

In terms of socio-economic efficiency, this equipment costs more than 1/3 less than imported equipment, proactively investing in equipment and quickly meeting needs, creating more jobs for the unit's workers and technical staff, and at the same time creating a position for the company to grow stronger and stronger in all aspects./.
