After 3 months of construction, on January 9, the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street located on Nguyen Van Binh Street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) will come into operation.
Participating in the book street are many publishing houses: Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House, Culture - Literature, Tre, Kim Dong, Education, joint stock companies of books - distribution, private media companies... Also participating are units such as the General Library, Post Office, collectors of old books - rare books. 20 book stalls are designed on the roadside for readers to interact and buy books. Besides, there are 2 book cafes - meeting places with authors, children's playground, book display - exhibition area, old book trading - exchange area, collections of rare items.
In particular, the old book trading area has the participation of collectors: Hoang Viet Long, Pham Thu, Nguyen Huu Le (CEO of TMA Software Company), Ngan Ha... The book exchange corner for collectors will be equipped with a scanner at the General Library for customers who want to own restored copies of valuable, rare books, books that have expired copyright, books that cannot be reprinted...
