The most beautiful book street in Vietnam in the heart of Saigon opens
On the afternoon of January 9, 2016, the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street project (Nguyen Van Binh Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1) officially opened and welcomed a wave of tourists as well as book lovers to visit, buy and sell.

Originating from an idea of book lovers, the Vietnam Publishing Association has collaborated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to ask for the opinion of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to turn Nguyen Van Binh Street near the City Post Office into the largest and most beautiful book street in Vietnam.
During the opening ceremony on the afternoon of January 9, hundreds of readers, especially young readers, came to visit and buy books on the opening morning of Ho Chi Minh City Book Street. This event and destination also attracted a large number of foreign tourists, not only coming to buy publications but also enjoying the book cafes built on Nguyen Van Binh Book Street.
The book street officially started on October 15, 2015, with 20 booths of participating publishing units: Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House, Tre, Kim Dong, Education, Culture and Arts, along with major book publishers and distributors such as Phuong Nam, Nha Nam, Thai Ha, Tri Viet, Alphabooks, Dong A, Truong Phat, Xunhasaba... In addition, there is also the participation of Ho Chi Minh City General Library, City Post Office and Hoa Sen University providing supporting activities for books.

The activity space at the book street is completely covered with waterproof wood and transparent folding glass doors to display, sell books, organize exchange spaces... Including two book cafes (next to the City Post Office), three kiosks selling books, magazines, and stationery. In addition, there is a small play area for children on weekends and an exhibition area for books, photos, and memorabilia according to each theme of the City's cultural activities.
Besides welcoming the Party Congress, Ho Chi Minh City Book Street is also a long-term project to become a beautiful cultural exchange place for the city's people, as well as develop a reading culture.
From this Nguyen Van Binh Book Street, cultural workers hope to contribute to forming another bright spot of culture and tourism to improve people's knowledge, serve the community, and at the same time form a reading culture among young people as well as provide an endless knowledge base to people, young people, and students.
