Water damage to your phone is one of the problems many users face. However, there are many different ways to "rescue" your phone.

Here are some tips for when your smartphone gets wet.

Quickly dries exterior surfaces

First, remove the device from the liquid environment. Important note, users must not charge, because it will cause a short circuit, causing fire and explosion.

Remove the SIM and battery (if removable) from the device to reduce the areas where water can be trapped inside, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surfaces. For devices with built-in batteries, do not attempt to remove the battery as this will void the smartphone's manufacturer's warranty.

Use a cotton ball or toilet paper to absorb the water. Then, gently shake and rotate the device 180 degrees to ensure that the liquid will fall out of the connection ports and charging port.

Avoid using your smartphone at that time. If the device is turned off, do not try to turn it on to check if it is still working. This is a taboo because it can completely damage electronic devices.

If the device is not powered off, users should quickly switch the device to airplane mode to ensure that no push notifications, messages or calls are received.

Drain the liquid inside

Do not use a hair dryer or other heat treatments as they may damage the hardware of your device. Look for desiccant packets (often found in medicine boxes, electronic component boxes) or rice to absorb moisture inside your device. Do not use cereal or ground rice as they may get stuck in the ports.

Take the machine to the service shop

If you are still unsure about your device, take it to the nearest warranty center or reputable repair facility.
