Disney 'brought' the whole ice rink to Vietnam to make a show

Coming to Vietnam for the first time, the producer of Magical Ice Festival hopes to bring an interesting experience to young audiences with a large-scale investment.

Disney on Ice presents Magical Ice Festivalis a musical show on ice stage with the participation of famous characters in the Disney world such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy, mermaid Ariel, princess Rapunzel, Anna and Elsa...This is the first time the children's program has come to Vietnam to serve families.

In the show, the characters will both perform and skate. The entire stage of Phu Tho Stadium is covered with a layer of ice with an area of42.67m x 21.33mto serve the artists' performances. The entire ice rink is made from many small blocks of ice and is carried around the world by the Disney performance troupe.With a real ice stage, the temperature in the arena must be kept at standard cold with its own air conditioning system. FourThe day before the event, Disney began building the ice rink and installing the equipment needed for the show.SThe number of experts following the performance group is 14 people.

Mr. Nadai Kang - Director of the unitDisney on Ice presents Magical Ice Festivalabout Vietnam - said that the preservation and import of stage props is the most difficult problem. "There are too many strange items of props, there are no specific regulations or standards for import and export. Therefore, the procedures will be much more complicated than other art programs. However, at present, we have resolved almost everything satisfactorily."

All the performers are professional figure skaters.

In addition to the stage being considered a feat, to bring American program standards back to the country, the Vietnamese side must meet operational criteria for sound, lighting, etc.Lighting plays a particularly important role in creating a magical feeling for the audience. Lighting designer Sam Doty was very careful in choosing colors that represent the nature of the four different stories in the show. Some 85 colors were used.used to decorate props, 40 speakers and 200 sound effects were used to surprise the young audience.

Mr. Nadai Kang said that the two sides started negotiating a year ago and have been planning the show in detail for the past six months. Disney On Ice's Vietnamese partnerdid not want to reveal the specific amount of money to bring the show back to the country to perform: "I can only say it's a large number, because the cost of transporting people as well as props, costumes... is extremely expensive.However, DisneyOn Icehas supported us a lot to have reasonable ticket prices for the Vietnamese market..We hope every child and family will have happy moments and beautiful memories in this program."

First time organization,Mr. Nadai Kang said that both sides do not focus on maximizing profits but on the quality and experience of the audience. The minimum price of the show is 250,000 VND.In addition, the program offers preferential tickets for some performances.

The lighting and color effects are carefully invested to bring dreamlike experiences to children.

The number of actors in the troupe is 43 people from seven different countries, with 180 costumes.The main actors in the show have skillful skating skills in addition to acting and dancing.This was demonstrated through the performance of the mermaid Ariel slowly rising and spinning on the ice, transforming into a human while floating in the air from a height of about 20 meters above the floor. The program opened with a performance of skating and jumping on ice accompanied by singing and dancing by a male and female choir.

Audiences will join the exciting adventures of Ariel the Little Mermaid, Rapunzel from Tangled, the kind Bella from Beauty and the Beast and especially the icy land of princesses Anna and Elsa from the famous animated film Frozen. "When we bring characters like Anna and Elsa to the ice stage, we are excited to see these two strong princesses inspire audiences as they discover the true meaning of love," said producer Nicole Feld.

The actors will perform and interact with the audience in English, with nine shows using Vietnamese subtitles.The show's content is identical to the original version of the Disney show around the world.
