In the past two years, the functional forces (Provincial Police and District Police) have fought, arrested, and handled 23 cases, 116 subjects in the district for gambling, of which: prosecuted 12 cases, 46 subjects; administratively sanctioned 11 cases, 70 subjects. In general, the gambling situation is not complicated in terms of scale, nature, and level. Functional sectors, especially the police force, have actively fought to prevent gambling.
Notably, the District Police proactively advised the District Party Committee to issue Directive No. 02/CT-HU dated November 3, 2015 on strengthening the Party's leadership in preventing and combating gambling in the district and organizing its dissemination and effective implementation.
The police force has increased its grasp of information from the people and launched high-point campaigns to crack down on and combat gambling crimes and evils. It has actively disseminated information about the consequences and harms of gambling so that people can understand, prevent and combat it in many forms. Since then, the awareness of the people, officials and civil servants about the fight against gambling evils has been significantly raised. The investigation, prosecution and trial of gambling crimes have been carried out promptly by the relevant agencies, ensuring deterrence and strictness.
